Multimedia: Bootup & Shut-Down Screens

The Windows 95, 98 and NT Bootup and Shut-Down Screens can be changed to whatever images you like. You just need to follow some simple instructions to get the images you want to be displayed on either Windows Boot-up or Windows Shut-down!!
There are three screens which you customise, these are as follows:
In Windows 95/98:
- The 'Boot-up' screen is called "logo.sys" and is in the "c:\" (root or your main boot-up hard disk drive!). Sometimes this is a hidden file or sometimes the file can't be viewed at all.
- The 'Please Wait Whilst Windows Shuts Down' screen is called the "logow.sys" and is in the "c:\windows" (or respective 'Windows') directory.
- The 'Safe to Switch Off' screen is called the "logos.sys" and is also in the "c:\windows" (or respective 'Windows') directory.
In Windows NT:
- The 'Boot-up' screen is called "winnt.bmp" (for 16-colour systems) or "winnt256.bmp" (for 256-colour and higher systems) and is in the "c:\" (root or your main boot-up hard disk drive!).
The first thing you have to do is rename each of these to something like "filename.old", where "filename" is the respective image name. If the files aren't present then ignore this bit!
Download the appropriate zip file, unzip these files into the appropriate "temp" directory using a program such as WinZip.
Run the relevant executable file (further notes on the program can be found in the readme.txt file too).
This would then create the three image files as above, but based on the Corrs images.
You can them move these images into their respective location, i.e. the "logo.sys" file into the c:\ (root drive), and the "logow.sys" and "logos.sys" into the c:\windows (or respective 'Windows') directory.
To test if they work, restart you computer from scratch, including a complete shut-down. The files should then run when booting up and shutting down windows on your computer. There you have it the Corrs Boot-Up and Shut-Down Screens!
