As modest, unassuming and likeable as they were when they were struggling non-entities, The Corrs still can't quite believe what a year they've had!
Their Talk On Corners album continues to fly out of the shops and has now sold more than five million copies making it the top-selling UK album of the year.
They must be the world's busiest band, currently selling out stadiums all over England, but we caught up with them on a rare day off in Dublin.
Dundalk darlings The Corrs took time out from their tour to make a flying visit to Dublin to play with legendary Irish folk band The Chieftains.
The Chieftains link up with The Corrs on a joint single I Know My Love due out in February and showcased in a live debut together at Dublin Castle.
Irish dancers and Cuban drummers joined the fun as Andrea, Sharon, Caroline and Jim let their hair down and showed they could still party!
The Corrs were shocked when Chieftain Paddy Moloney asked them to guest on their new album and sent them a tape of a very old version of the traditional song I Know My Love.
"It was just this woman...wailing," laughs Andrea Corr. "We thought he can't be serious! We can't do THIS!"
"We were gonna ask if we could do a different song but when he explained he wanted to put a Latin rhythm on it, it made sense and we had a ball doing it!"
The Corrs were flushed with excitement when they came offstage after a magical performance with The Chieftains.
"It's such an honour to play with them, those guys are legends, they've been an inspiration since year one for all Irish music," says fiddler Sharon Corr.
"Our father said it was one of the greatest things that had ever happened to him to know we were playing with the Chieftain's. Our session with them was
one of those rare musical experiences!" Whatever else happens in their careers, The Corrs aren't likely to forget 1998 in a hurry.
At the start of the year they were just another Irish band struggling to make it, but now they've had hits all over the world, sold five million albums and toured with the Rolling Stones.
"We can hardly believe it ourselves sometimes," says Caroline the drummer. "We've worked incredibly hard but we've enjoyed it all and we're very lucky!"
You make your own luck in the music industry and The Corrs did it by doorstepping one of the world's most influential record company characters.
Finding themselves in Los Angeles they couldn't leave without seeing hot-shot producer David Foster, who was working on a Michael Jackson album at the time.
They collared him at the studio, gave him an impromptu unplugged performance, and he signed them on the spot!
Life was never the same for The Corrs once they'd released a dance re-mix of the old Fleetwood Mac hit Dreams and Mick Fleetwood had joined them on stage at a televised Royal Albert Hall gig.
Yet they're remarkably unaffected by fame and while his sisters retire for their beauty sleep, big brother Jim's up for a spot of Dublin clubbing.
"Got to go to bed now! We've got a gig tomorrow and I've got a plane to catch," he said. It was then 3am!
